Open to current and active CAC members in the following categories; Signature Artist Member, Artist Member, Out-of-State Artist, and Mentorship Program Member.

Associate Artist and Student Artist Members are not eligible for consideration.

Subject:

The Memory of Water

Water shapes our world in ways both visible and unseen. It carves landscapes, nourishes life, reflects light, preserves history, and evokes emotion. Whether flowing or still, abundant or fleeting, water connects us to place, memory, and the passage of time.

The Memory of Water invites artists to explore the many interpretations of water through representational, impressionistic, or contemporary approaches. Subject matter may include, but is not limited to, oceans, lakes, rivers, creeks, waterfalls, wetlands, marshes, tide pools, rain, snow, ice, fog, and clouds. Artists might depict dramatic seascapes, tranquil ponds, mist-covered mountains, rain-soaked city streets, reflections on quiet waters, or the seasonal rhythms of waterways. Works may also consider places where water is absent or ephemeral, such as drought-stricken landscapes, dry riverbeds, or the concrete channel of the Los Angeles River.

Medium and Dimensions:

Due to space limitations, we recommend limiting sizes to 20 inches on its longest side. While larger works can be submitted, they will face more scrutiny during the jurying process.

Only 30 works max will be accepted.

Paintings should be in traditional materials like oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, acrylic, graphite or charcoal.

Due to the sizing limitations of the gallery, sculptures cannot be considered for this venue.

All artworks must be original. No AI, or AI reference materials, giclées or digitally enhanced images will be accepted. If it is found that a work does not meet these requirements, the artwork will be disqualified from this display.

Commission:

60% Artist; 20% Old Mill; 20% CAC 

All artwork must be available for sale

Notifications:

The Submission Deadline is Wednesday, March 3, 2027 @ 11:59 pm PST

Artists will be notified via email when the results are available in their OnlineJuriedShows artist profile on or around Monday, March 15.

Submission Information:

Upload all artwork through OnlineJuriedShows.com for consideration to exhibit in The Memory of Water.

The entry fee is $35 for the first image, and $10 per additional entry. There is no entry limit to this submission.

Images must be jpg, under 4MB and in sRGB colorspace.

Artwork Drop-off:

Monday, May 17; 10:00 am-12:00 noon

*If artists cannot drop-off accepted artwork in person during the designated delivery time, artwork must be shipped. Artwork that does not arrive on day of drop-off will forfeit its acceptance and in-person display.

**Accommodations can be made for early drop-off, or a proxy can hand deliver the artwork to the gallery on Artist’s behalf.

Out-of-Town Shipping:

All out-of-town shipments must be sent to Box and Ship

Artists’ Reception:

Thursday, May 20, 2027; 5:30-7:30 pm.
