Blue & The Muse is a new contemporary art gallery owned by Magal Nagar and Gil Tepper, located in the heart of the LA Arts District. Managed and curated by Dale Youngman, the gallery is dedicated to inclusivity, featuring artists from emerging to mid-career. Dale is known for curating thematic group shows, directing the gallery to stand out as one that does not represent singular artists or feature solo exhibitions, but rather creates a concept-first, narrative-driven venue.

As the year comes to an end, there's a quiet pressure to arrive somewhere, to finish, to resolve, to complete. "Still Becoming...The Journey Through" resists that pressure.
This exhibition brings together women painters exploring the journey, not simply the destination. It is a show about a life, a project, a situation that is mid-way through. Each work is fully complete and carries within it the excitement of a moment caught in time but still in development: a figure mid-gesture, a landscape at the threshold between light and dark, a river almost frozen, a pregnancy, a meal being prepared, a flower in bud-form, a ball game, an infant learning to walk.
"Still Becoming...The Journey Through" asks what it means to be seen in the middle of something. The moment before you cross the finish line... a full moment, and yet still moving ahead. Maybe finishing next year what you have started in this one.
1st prize: $500
2nd prize: $300
3rd prize: $200
Eligibility:
Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision.
THIS EXHIBIT IS FOR CURRENT WOMEN PAINTERS WEST MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING ONLY.
Specifications:
Blue and the Muse Gallery takes a 50% commission on purchases. Contracts will be presented for signature upon drop off. Payments occur on the 15th and 30th of the month.
Accepted work must be signed by the artist. Submissions must include artist name, medium, dimensions, and retail price. To accommodate as many of our artists as possible, the gallery will accept only one piece per artist.
Liability
Women Painters West or Blue and the Muse Gallery shall not be responsible for loss, theft or damage of artworks while in the gallery's possession or in transit. By entering this show, artists agree to all conditions in this Prospectus.
There is NO SIZE limit for this exhibit.
- Framed work should have simple narrow neutral frames and mats only.
- Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork. Wiring must be wrapped with tape at ends. No saw-tooth hangers. All artwork should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition.
- All works on paper must be covered with glass or plexiglass.
- Artwork may remain unframed, so long as edges are clean; no staples.
- Delivered work must match the image submitted. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed.
- All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit.
NOTE THAT THIS EXHIBIT WILL REMAIN AT THE GALLERY FOR 7 WEEKS.
- Prices may not be changed after acceptance.
- Original digital art will be considered but no AI work or digital reproductions.
- Attach a label to the back upper right corner of each piece.
Entry Procedure:
Artwork for consideration by curator must be entered in the OnlineJuriedShows website by midnight, November 1, 2026. Log in and click Enter This Show above to begin.
Fees:
$35 for two entries, $5 for each additional entry, up to three total entries by a single artist. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through www.onlinejuriedshows.com. Credit card or PayPal are accepted.
The images from this exhibit to be displayed on the Women Painters West and Blue and the Muse Art Gallery websites or Instagram or Facebook page are the exclusive property of the individual artists and no rights are conveyed to anyone without the express written permission of the artist.
Digital Images of Each Piece:
Digital format: JPEG
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, sRGB color space.
